Young Investigators Mentoring Symposium by

The GENIAL consortium organizes a scientific retreat, under the leadership of Zucman-Rossi’s lab, focused on fostering the growth, visibility and mentoring of young researchers. This event will feature a dynamic program based on career-mentoring sessions that will train in team building, leadership, publication and scientific communication. It will also integrate outstanding keynote presentations with selected oral presentations by young researchers.

The symposium will serve as a dedicated platform to provide young investigators with skills and strategies for effective career mentoring, fostering their professional growth and research journeys. By encouraging collaborative dialogue and interdisciplinary cooperation, the meeting aims to strengthen connections among participants and highlight the importance of teamwork.

This event is part of the training activities within the European project GENIAL (Gene-Environment Interaction in Alcohol-related Hepatocellular Carcinoma).

This GENIAL retreat has been designed for 30 attendees as maximum, including 20 mentees that will be guided by 8 experienced mentors. Target audience includes :

  • PhD students
  • Postdoctoral researchers
  • Early-career researchers in permanent positions (e.g., Assistant Professors or equivalent)

Participants are encouraged to present an outline or their ongoing projects in the format of short oral presentations of 10 min
