The place of women in science, explored through theater

07/11/2024

On November 4, we were delighted to welcome the LAPS/équipe du matin troupe, who presented their play “Elle et l’infini” to secondary school students from grades 4 to 12.

Performance of “Elle et l’Infini” at the CRC by the LAPS/équipe du matin troupe.

The LAPS/Equipe du matin troupe has set itself the goal of organizing and developing artistic and cultural activities dedicated to training and citizenship education.

Through the play “Elle et l’Infini”, the story of an imaginary mathematician whose career may seem familiar to many women scientists, the troupe tackles the question of the place of women in the scientific professions.

CRC researcher Lubka Roumenina, head of the “Complement in physiology and pathology” group presented her work and career path to the students. After the show, the students were invited to react and ask questions raised by the play and by the researcher’s presentation.

The discussion was rich and lively, and we hope to repeat the experience in the near future.
