Summary :Uveal melanoma is a rare but dismal malignancy of the eye. Its peculiar epidemiology suggests predisposing genetic factors in the European population. The oncogenic process is now well established, relying on only two types of somatic events. We will cover several aspects of the predisposing genetics of this disease, as well one key somatic oncogenic event dysregulating splicing. We will then describe how we are aiming to take advantage of this splicing dysregulation for innovative therapeutic approaches.
